suitable for every need. She offers affordable, safe, and effective treatments for people of all ages.
She only uses industry-approved, state-of-the-art technologies.
Owner and operator, Jessica Edmondson, obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in 2010. She began to pursue her career as an Electrologist in 2018, training as an apprentice to complete over 600 clinical hours, and receiving her medical license through the Oklahoma State Electrology Association in 2020. Jessica began to seek the removal of unwanted hair herself in 2008, and began a series of laser hair removal treatments. Unfortunately, one not-largely talked about side effect of laser for some individuals, increased hair growth, led her to seek a real solution to permanently eliminate all the hair. In 2016, she began electrolysis treatments herself and was inspired by her incredible results to help other individuals to put an end to their unwanted hair.
On top of her extensive training and understanding of electrolysis, Jessica gets electrolysis, literally!
Past and present, and will continue in the future, and this is what makes her skills and
understanding of the process stand out among the rest!
“A big question I get from most of my clients is how I got into this profession, and when I tell them I had my own hair problem and remedied it with electrolysis, I’m practicing what I preach right along with my clients, and can share real-life experience and advice while offering my services. My biggest hope is that because of this I can help my clients to feel more at ease, and to be able to fully understand the process from start to finish.”
HISTORY OF ELECTROLYSIS
Where Aesthetics Meets Excellence
In 1875, Dr. Charles Michel, an ophthalmologist, experimented with ways to remove the painful ingrown eyelashes of his patients. The early techniques used fine wires attached to a battery to produce GALVANIC ELECTROLYSIS. This was a chemical method that utilized direct current to convert normal body salt and water into the compound sodium hydroxide (lye). Lye destroys the cells that initiate hair growth.
The galvanic electrolysis method is still used today, though modern machines are now much more efficient and computerized.
In 1923, after the discovery of radio waves and high frequency current, a new method of electrolysis was born. This method, called THERMOLYSIS, uses the high frequency current to produce heat, which cauterizes and destroys the cells in the follicle that causes hair growth.
In 1945, Arthur Hinkel developed the BLEND method, which combines galvanic and high frequency currents. This combination causes destruction by both heat and chemical action at the same time. All three methods have been proven to be safe and effective.
Registered Electrologists in Oklahoma are well-trained, and after careful evaluation, will determine which method is best for you. Though licensure requirements differ from state to state, Oklahoma Registered Electrologists are licensed by the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision. They are required to have a heavy science background, with multiple college credits, prior to their twelve-month electrolysis internship. The training includes a heavy emphasis in the area of microbiology and sterilization.
